I'm a a bit of a newbie to Microtonic and I'm using it with Reaper. My problem so far is if I want 2 different patches for a song, one for the verse and one for the chorus, it overlaps the 2 on playback.

My process is I drag the midi into reaper from let's say the a) patch, then for the chorus I drag the b) patch in. Am I doing something wrong?

You mean different preset and drum patches for the different sections?

The "program" menu in the top of the UI lets you select and edit 16 different programs that can be activated either via MIDI program changes (default) or MIDI keys. To enable the latter, choose "Edit MIDI CC / Keys", click the little box above the program number and play a MIDI note. This note will now be the base note for program 1, next semitone will select program 2 etc.
