I love Microtonic and use it in a live setup.
I’ve mapped all 8 voices (24 knobs per voice) of Microtonic to a BCR2000 using ReaLearn in Reaper.
This works great — full parameter control, and all LEDs on the controller stay perfectly in sync.
However, there’s one critical and surprisingly simple control missing:
Selecting which voice is currently active (displayed on screen) via a MIDI CC or automation parameter.
There are more than 220 parameters exposed, but these 8 (voice selection) are not.
This makes it impossible to switch the active voice from a controller — something that’s very pleasant for workflow and essential in a live performance setup.
Feature request:
Please consider adding the ability to select the active Microtonic voice via MIDI CC or a parameter.
This would make external controller integration much more powerful and flexible.
Maybe a nice rainy afternoon project ;)
Thanks for considering!
yep. that's what I was thinking! while having a midi-clip running and separately having the ability to select a drum channel to lock in parameters for manipulation instead of having it jump from channel to channel by 'Select drum channel with Midi notes' ON and causing chaos. This would be really nice!
but still there will be a problem with automation... this is way more complex than it seems
