Export-Import Genopatch to Polybrute

    Hi,

I love exploring soundscapes with my Arturia Polybrute, but sometimes, in the heat of the flow, I forget to save patches. I have an archive of sound recordings that I would like to reverse-engineer and save to the Polybrute so that I can play them live. Synplant 2 works some real magic in that regard!

Now, my question: Is it possible to export the Genopatch and import it to the Polybrute - or any other hybrid synth? That would be extremely dope and a true game-changer for me!

    Best regards,
    Achronon

Sorry, no. Genopatch will try to find Synplant patch settings that sound like your reference sound. In the end, you get patch settings that are incompatible with anything else.

Although one could argue that it has a fairly straightforward synth engine, the way the parameters (genes) work in Synplant is quite unique because it was designed from the ground up with a specific sound exploration workflow in mind.

    Hi,

Is it possible to find out the FM algorithm used?
I would like to transfer these parameters manually to Digitone and Opsix.

    Thank you for Synplant

    JO

Synplant uses true frequency modulation, not phase modulation disguised as frequency modulation (as on the famous Yamaha synths for example).

If you install our official mods ( https://soniccharge.com/forum/topic/2883-synplant-2-official-mods ), you can get a read-out of the exact FM amount and pitches of oscillators A and B.

Modulation of fm amount or pitches may be trickier to translate to other synths as Synplant uses a quite unique modulation envelope. But again, the "Detailed DNA Hints" mod can guide you in the right direction.
