is it possible to assign a Midi contoller to play around with Beat Space's 8 position markers?

Unfortunately no. MIDI controllers can only be mapped to parameters. Scripts can't process MIDI directly and there are no "unused" parameters that I could use for this feature either. All parameters are in use by the drum synth and the sequencer.
