    Product Name: Synplant 1.0.1 VST/AU
Operating Sytem: Mac OS X 10.6.8
    Host Name: Pro Tools 10

    Hi,

I am trying to use the synthesizer as a trial version to decide whether or not I would like to purchase it. However, it is not showing up as an instrument in Pro Tools. I have tried to use VSTLord, but the installation folder does not include an application icon to start the program or a .VST file to drag into my Pro Tools Alias folder...is there something wrong with the download? I appreciate any help you can give me.

I really look forward to trying out this synth. Thank you!

Hi and thanks for your interest in our products.

ProTools does not directly support VST or Audio Units plug-ins. Instead they use a proprietary format called RTAS. There is a VST<->RTAS wrapper available from http://www.fxpansion.com/, but we cannot guarantee the stability and performance of our plug-ins when using this wrapper.

To load them into VSTLord, select "New Synth..." from the "File" menu and browse to "/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/Sonic Charge".

    Hello,

I just bought synplant for mac, but i don't see it in Protools 10 or 11 instruments. So i searched in applications if i can find any aax or even dpm with this name. I don't see anything. Can you explain how to use it on protools please? If not, synplant might be useless.

    Thanks

Sorry, but our plug-ins are not compatible with AAX or RTAS. The only way to use them in ProTools is by loading them via some form of wrapper that accepts VST or Audio Units.

For RTAS there is the old wrapper from fxpansion, already mentioned in this thread: http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=15

A newer product that I've heard good things about is DDMF Metaplugin which supports ProTools 11 (AAX) too: http://www.ddmf.eu/product.php?id=3
