I'm writing because I'd like to understand something about Microtonic 2026. I use macOS.
In previous years, I knew there were some limitations when using the VST3 version of Microtonic compared to the VST2.4 version, especially regarding one feature that is crucial for my workflow. In the MIDI configuration section, the option "MIDI CC operate on selected channel" is greyed out in the VST3 version.
In the meantime, I know that newer VST3 SDKs have been released, and I was wondering whether there might be any developments regarding this specific feature. It would be ideal for me, as I'd like to control Microtonic through a custom-built external MIDI controller. Being able to use that function in a VST3 environment would be extremely valuable.
My concern is that, in the near future, many DAWs may stop supporting VST 2.4 altogether, so I'm trying to understand whether implementing this functionality in VST3 is now technically possible or if there are still limitations within the VST3 specification that would prevent it.
