Hello everybody,
I now use Microtonic as my main drum supplier for my live setup. And loving it!
I do a lot of improvisation and switch a lot through different presets with the 16 available Program Changes.
I also love to mangle with the presets during pieces. However, when I start a new piece, after a program change, the presets stay in the status as I left it in with all my latest alterations.
Is it possible that with Program Changes the presets go back to the saved versions and not to the modified versions?

Yes. If you click the Program Selector in the top bar, you'll find the Write Protect Programs option at the bottom of the drop-down list.
